What Couples are Saying About...
Labor Support (Doula Services)
My first three deliveries were all induced and I also had an epidural. With my 4th pregnancy, I decided I really wanted to have a different experience, I wanted to give birth naturally without being induced and without an epidural. My doctor strongly suggested hiring a labor coach. That's when I found Stephanie. There were many times when I doubted my ability to go through birth without an epidural, but Stephanie was amazing to help me build up my courage and reassure me that I could do it! Yet at the same time, she also always let me know that she supported my decisions no matter what they were.
Stephanie really was everything that I hoped for in a doula! She always took time to listen to my questions and my concerns and if she didn't have the answer right then (which was rare), she would find it for me! She has so many tools, and such a great knowledge base that I always felt like I was in good hands and never questioned her ability to help me. She even helped me answer important questions that I hadn't even thought to ask! She helped with all the physical aspects of pregnancy and birth, but I felt like more importantly she helped me emotionally. Pregnancy is an emotional roller coaster and Stephanie was always so validating and thoughtful! She often sent me timely affirmations, funny videos, heartfelt stories...etc. I felt like she always knew exactly what I needed.
My birth experience didn't end up the way I planned due to unforeseen circumstances, as a result I had to work through some PTSD and Stephanie really went above and beyond for me. She was constantly checking in on me to see how I was doing, and talked me through a lot of hard things. I truly felt like she was my life preserver keeping me afloat. Stephanie is such a down to earth person who really cares about you and about helping you have the birth experience that you want to have. I would highly recommend her to anyone! -Nicole C.
My husband Josh and I knew instantly that Stephanie would be a wonderful doula. She is a certified Bradley Method instructor, so she's able to offer in depth experience and knowledge to couples hoping for a natural birth experience. She was always on time and very professional. She met with us several times before our due date, offering us valuable information and even some goodies! Although she ended up getting the flu during the week I gave birth, she had already given us a chance to meet one of her many back-up doulas, and we ended up loving her just as much. If you go with Stephanie, you are in great hands.
When we interviewed Stephanie she was a relatively new doula but it was clear that she was very knowledgeable about the birth process; she is also a Bradley Method instructor. She met with us twice prior to labor to discuss what we hoped for with the birth and to teach us relaxation techniques to practice. She also answered all my questions about creating my birth plan, giving evidence based information. I had worried that a doula might make me feel guilty if I opted for certain interventions (like epidural) but Stephanie made me feel confident that she would support me in any decisions I made. Things got exciting when my baby stayed breech in the final weeks of pregnancy. My OB was talking Cesarean but I really wanted to try for a completely natural, unmedicated birth. I found another highly skilled OB who was willing to let me try vaginal breech delivery so we pressed on with the plan for natural birth. It was a long labor (34 hrs) and Stephanie was there to support me through it all. I did opt for an epidural around the 24 hr mark because I was exhausted and stalling. In the end I pushed out my breech baby safely! I can't imagine doing it without Stephanie there, she was priceless!
Stephanie was a joy to work with and such a huge help during our pregnancy and L&D. I was able to ask questions, big and small, silly and not, and Stephanie provided sound insight and perspective. She has a very intuitive nature and a great set of tools in which we utilized during my 24+ hours L&D process. I'd recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate doula.
After looking up statistics we decided to find a doula, and we are so glad Stephanie was available! Stephanie is professional and knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful. She met with us before our due date to get to know us, our birth plan and help us better prepare for labor & delivery. My husband was an awesome labor coach and was there every step but Stephanie has training and insight into labor. I was so grateful to have Stephanie there especially when my husband went to change, put stuff in the car, check in at the hospital, etc! During labor she used counter-pressure, massage, and stayed calm and positive to talk us through contractions, transition and delivery. It was wonderful to have Stephanie to support us and make us feel at ease about was happening, and as someone that was on the same page as we were! We are so grateful for Stephanie and the love and care she put in for us! We are so happy with our labor experience and couldn't have asked for a better Doula!
